Working Principle
In Plan 53C (M) we replaced the piston type accumulator with Metal Bellow Tracker. The bellow tracker eliminates the use of ‘O’ Ring which causes the sluggish movement of the piston. Plan 53C (M) is a dual pressurized system that eliminates the use of Nitrogen for pressurization with the help of a Metal Bellow Tracker. Barrier liquid is stored on the topside of the Metal Bellow Tracker. The reference line from Stuffing Box is connected to the bottom of the Bellow Tracker. The Metal Bellow Tracker is designed in such a way that it responds to even a 0.1 kg/cm2 change in pressure (with the help of initial pressure provided by spring action and differential pressure created by of Bellow Tracker).
The top portion of Bellow Tracker is connected to the seal loop. A pumping ring circulates the barrier fluid through a loop that includes a seal cooler and other instrumentation. The leakage is detected by change in level. This system is ideal for applications that have even slightest fluctuating pressures.
